L.A. council members propose measures to curb spiraling pension cost

Eric Garcetti and 6 other council members were worried about the pension cost of Los Angeles argued and agreed on reducing civilian worker benefits and increase the retirement age from 55 to 60. This proposal would have 2% of the workers salaries to help pay for healthcare for retired employees, since they currently they don't pay nothing at the moment. The decrease in the new benefits would only apply to the new employees not the ones with existing jobs at the moment. They exchange arguments throughout the meeting till a agreement was fulfilled within the council members.

I believe that what these council members are doing is for a good cause, and I believe the proposal is a very good one indeed. Yet, in my opinion this new proposal should be applied to all workers not just the new young people beginning their careers and jobs to be obliged with this hurtful law. The 7 council members should i really work on a proposal that would not only benefit retired folks but also the working ones as well.  Over all, this new agreemaent would be positive in the end and be helpful to our community.

Freedom of Nose piercing

This article is about a young 14 year old girl named Ariana Lacono who was suspended from her school for having a nose piercing. She argued the 1st Amendment and that she had the right of freedom of religion and that the school had no right to suspend her from her school. I believe having a nose piercing really cant offend a school in any way. Does the nose piercing slow down your reading? Does the nose piercing make you learn slower? I believe that the school really has no reason to be suspending her or any student at all.
